One of Google’s newest service Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It’s built within the Gmail account, so users will not have dig an entirely new set of friends from scratch. This is the only free email provider available having a social network within a free webmail account.

This latest service has been launched for less than a month old and has already got itself into trouble concerning privacy issues. The controversial feature known as “auto-follow” which Google called “auto-suggest” means that Buzz immediately redirects you to follow the people you regularly email and chat. This is ideal if you want to do it with your friends but you don’t want to follow work associates or your bosses whom you also have to send webmail email regularly.

However, Google is now posting its ads with another people’s content. This means that Google Buzz is republishing not just the parts of it but the full article itself without even asking for permission. Allegedly it also strips advertising from that content distributing Google advertisements which means people are wasting money.

So it appears that Google’s effort to try and expand itself into social media did not go well with a good start. On the other hand, the location-based features of Google Buzz for mobile seems excellent and the Buzz updates is not limited to 140 characters unlike Twitter.

Do you want to help keep your free web mail from the hands of spammers? One technique that spammers gather email addresses would be to “mine” web pages, which are public. They have robot software that search through every website they could find, searching for patterns such as:

email to louie@hotmailemail.com

When they find a match, they add it to their list of possible new email addresses.

A technique to combat this is to scramble the email addresses on your website pages (your own, plus other people’s email address that you mention), so that browsers can show the email address, but robot software will miss it.

A typical and noticeable technique is to insert spaces in your email address:

l o u i e @ h o t ma i l e m a i l . c o m

Another strategy is to quit using MAILTO links, because they are an obvious indication that what follows is an email address:

&lta href=”mailto:louie@hotmailemail.com”>Email me</a>

Removing the Mailto link is not as much of a loss as you may think, since most people do not have their browsers configured properly to do email links. A less common, more foolproof, and much more troublesome method is to convert the email address into a GIF graphic file.

Anyone who has looked for a free web email anti-spam option would be most likely acquainted with spam capture rate statistics. You have certainly noticed guarantees like “Blocks 99.9% of spam” but what the capture rate does not inform you will show much more important to your total filtering satisfaction.

While a few spam strategies are innovative and can be a challenge for different blocking systems to capture, preventing the majority of spam email is quite simple. The actual problem isn’t filtering favorable mail that users wish to acquire along the way.

A spam filter’s stated capture rate indicates practically nothing if you do not understand their false-positive rate. These are good free web emails caught by the filters and marked as spam. An excellent capture rate will never be acceptable to the end-user if it comes with a higher false-positive rate. The cost of lost possibilities and postponed responses to genuine free web mail will surpass the advantage offered by the blocking of junk e-mail.

To provent spam emails or junk emails from entering your inbox, only supply your primary email address to relatives, friends, and trusted businesses, such as your bank, ISP, etc.

A free webmail email such as Hotmail email account, Gmail account, or AOL account is ideal if you wish to sign-up for mailing lists, blogs, forums, etc that display your email address in public. A few online services even sneak a clause in their terms of service that lets them share your email address with their partners for other advertising purposes.

Whenever you share your private email address online, you are sharing it too with individuals worldwide, so better get a free hotmail email account now.

The domain name is the point that occurs directly following the “@” sign in an email address, such as hotmail.com or arc.nasa.gov. The domain names have numerous words, separated by dots, which show various degrees of organization. The size of the organization increases as you go left to right. The domain arc.nasa.gov, for instance, is for Ames Research Center, which is a component of NASA, a U.S. government area.

The left-most word is the identity of the particular computer which carries the email. Small-scale companies might only have one computer to do all tasks; bigger companies could have several computer systems. For instance, Ames Research Center email addresses currently all go through mail.arc.nasa.gov.

When you get an email, and there’s no @ sign, then that probably implies they have the very same domain as you. For example, if louie@freeemaildomain.com sends email to chris@freeemaildomain.com, Chris might see only Louie in the return address area.

In the event that there usually appears to be something inadequate in the domain name, then your correspondent may distribute some domain information. For instance, if louie@hotmail.emaildomain.com sends email to chris@webmail.emaildomain.com, Chris might see only louie@hotmail in the return address field.

This site offers the best list of free email domains for your different needs.
