Facebook users are dealing with another email scam; these greedy individuals are wishing that users will give their passwords to them. McAfee has since sent a reminder to Facebook users – right after discovering this most recent email scam.
CTV Toronto clarifies that the webmail emails being sent requires the Facebook account holders that it might be a good idea to change their password as it has been reset – they’re then requested to click the hyperlink that shows up in the email to modify it. However, once you have clicked on that link, a program is then downloaded.
This is when the fun takes place, the program will then enable hackers to find out your Facebook password, and all other passwords saved on your pc. In accordance with McAfee, this is becoming the sixth most prevalent scam to date.
Whenever you get a free web mail requesting you to modify your Facebook password, it’s probable that they are scams. One other thing be aware of is the poor sentence structure in the emails, in the event the email starts, “Dear user of Facebook,” then delete it immediately.
